3D Print Cost Calculator
Calculate total 3D printing cost including material, electricity, and printer depreciation.
How to Use the 3D Print Cost Calculator
- Enter filament weight in grams and price per kg.
- Enter print hours and electricity cost per kWh.
- Enter printer cost and expected lifetime hours, then click Calculate.
使用场景
- •Pricing 3D printed products for sale.
- •Comparing filament brands by cost.
- •Evaluating print job profitability.
公式
Formula: Total Cost = Material Cost + Energy Cost + Depreciation. Material = (filament_g / 1000) × price_per_kg. Energy = hours × 0.2 kW × electricity_rate.
常见问题
What power consumption should I use?
Most FDM printers consume 100–300W during printing. The calculator uses 200W as a reasonable average for mid-range printers.
How do I calculate printer depreciation?
Divide the printer purchase price by its expected total print hours life. A $300 printer used for 2000 hours gives $0.15/hour.
Are there hidden costs not included?
Post-processing, failed prints, nozzle wear, maintenance, and your own time are not included in this basic estimate.
