3D Print Cost Calculator

Calculate total 3D printing cost including material, electricity, and printer depreciation.

How to Use the 3D Print Cost Calculator

  1. Enter filament weight in grams and price per kg.
  2. Enter print hours and electricity cost per kWh.
  3. Enter printer cost and expected lifetime hours, then click Calculate.

Anwendungsfälle

Formel

Formula: Total Cost = Material Cost + Energy Cost + Depreciation. Material = (filament_g / 1000) × price_per_kg. Energy = hours × 0.2 kW × electricity_rate.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

What power consumption should I use?
Most FDM printers consume 100–300W during printing. The calculator uses 200W as a reasonable average for mid-range printers.
How do I calculate printer depreciation?
Divide the printer purchase price by its expected total print hours life. A $300 printer used for 2000 hours gives $0.15/hour.
Are there hidden costs not included?
Post-processing, failed prints, nozzle wear, maintenance, and your own time are not included in this basic estimate.
