Tile Calculator
Calculate how many tiles you need for a floor or wall. Accounts for grout gaps and waste percentage to give an accurate estimate.
How to Use the Tile Calculator
- Enter the dimensions of the area or structure (length, width, height).
- Specify material parameters if prompted (thickness, overlap, etc.).
- Review the calculated material quantity and coverage area.
- Use the results to plan your purchase and budget.

Casos de Uso
- •Estimating the quantity of materials needed before purchasing.
- •Planning renovation budgets with accurate material calculations.
- •Reducing waste by computing exact material requirements.
- •Comparing costs between different material options for a project.
Fórmula
Area = Length × Width. Tile area = (Tile length + Gap) × (Tile width + Gap) / 10000. Tiles (no waste) = ceil(Area / Tile area). Tiles (with waste) = ceil(Tiles × (1 + Waste% / 100)).
Preguntas Frecuentes
Why include a waste percentage?
Tiles need to be cut at edges and corners. Typically 10% waste is recommended for straight layouts, 15% for diagonal patterns.
Does the grout gap matter for quantity?
Yes. Including the grout gap in calculations gives a slightly lower tile count because each tile effectively covers a larger area with its surrounding gap.
How do I convert tile dimensions?
Tile dimensions are entered in centimeters (e.g., 30×30 cm). The calculator converts them to meters internally for area computation.
