Formula: Width(cm) = (stitches / count) × 2.54 + 5cm margin. Skeins ≈ total stitches / 300.

What is fabric count?
Fabric count is the number of stitches (holes) per inch. Common counts: 14-count Aida (standard), 18-count (finer detail), 28-count evenweave.
How many stitches does one skein cover?
A standard 8m DMC skein covers approximately 300 full cross-stitches on 14-count fabric. Complex shading requires more skeins.
How much border fabric should I add?
Add at least 5cm (2 inches) on each side for framing. The calculator includes a 5cm margin in width and height.
