%TBSA Burn Area Calculator (Rule of Nines)
Estimate total body surface area burned using the adult Rule of Nines, then compute Parkland fluid volume.
How to Use the %TBSA Burn Area Calculator (Rule of Nines)
- Mark each anatomical region as burned or not.
- Enter body weight in kilograms.
- Click Calculate to see %TBSA, severity and Parkland fluid volume.
使用场景
- •Initial assessment in emergency medicine training.
- •Burn unit handover calculation.
- •Teaching Rule of Nines.
公式
Adult Rule of Nines: head 9%, each arm 9%, anterior torso 18%, posterior torso 18%, each leg 18%, perineum 1%. Parkland = 4 × weight × %TBSA.
常见问题
What does the rule of nines cover?
Only second-degree and deeper burns. Superficial first-degree burns are excluded. For children use Lund-Browder, which adjusts head and leg percentages.
Why is Parkland fluid here?
Because Parkland volume depends directly on %TBSA — this calculator gives both in one step.
