Why index alimony to МРОТ?
When alimony is set as a fixed sum, Article 117 of the Family Code requires proportional indexation to the minimum subsistence (or, historically, the minimum wage) to preserve real purchasing power.
Who performs the indexation?
The bailiff, employer, or other payer applies the coefficient automatically when the reference base changes — no new court ruling is needed.
