Cas d'utilisation

Formule

Parkland: total fluid (ml) = 4 × weight (kg) × %TBSA burned. Half is given over the first 8 hours post-burn, the rest over the following 16 hours.

Questions fréquemment posées

Which burns count toward %TBSA?
Only second-degree (partial thickness) and third-degree (full thickness) burns are counted. Superficial (first-degree) burns are excluded from the calculation.
When does the clock start?
The 24-hour period starts at the time of the burn, not the time of admission. Adjust the first 8-hour portion accordingly if there is a delay before fluids begin.
