Why the cap at 1.0?
PDCAAS is truncated at 1.0 because additional amino acids beyond the requirement cannot improve biological quality in the regulatory framework.
Which proteins score 1.0?
Whey, casein, egg white, soy isolate and beef all reach the 1.0 ceiling. Wheat gluten scores about 0.25 (limited by lysine).
