Preguntas Frecuentes
Why the 0.44 FTA coefficient?
Dean Oliver's derivation: of all free-throw trips, about 44% are the equivalent of a field-goal possession (and-ones, two-shot fouls, three-shot fouls share the weight).
TS% vs eFG%?
eFG% accounts for the extra value of a three-pointer but ignores free throws. TS% captures free throws as well and is the best single-shot efficiency metric.
What is a good TS%?
Roughly 54% is NBA league average. Elite scorers sit around 60%+; role players get by at 56–58%.
