Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is Naegele's rule?
Naegele's rule gives an estimate accurate to within about ± 1 week for most pregnancies with a regular 28-day cycle. Ultrasound dating in the first trimester is more accurate.
What if my cycle is not 28 days?
If your cycle is longer, shift the due date forward by the number of days your cycle exceeds 28 (for example, 35-day cycle → add 7 days). Shorter cycles subtract.
