Is 24/7 recording assumed?
Yes — the formula uses 86 400 seconds/day. For motion-activated recording, multiply by an activity factor (typical 0.2–0.4).
What bitrate is typical?
1080p H.264 ≈ 4 Mbps, 4 K H.265 ≈ 8–16 Mbps. Check your camera datasheet for accurate numbers.
Does this cover the NVR and cabling?
No — it sizes the cameras and raw storage. Add NVR, PoE switches, and cable runs into your project budget separately.
