Volumetric Weight Calculator (Air / Courier / Road)
Compute the dimensional weight of a parcel using air (÷5000), courier (÷6000) and road (÷3000) conventions, and the chargeable weight carriers actually bill.
How to Use the Volumetric Weight Calculator (Air / Courier / Road)
- Enter package length, width and height in centimetres.
- Enter actual weight in kilograms.
- Click Calculate to see volumetric and chargeable weights for air, courier and road.
حالات الاستخدام
- •Preparing shipments and comparing carrier quotes.
- •Estimating cost of bulky-but-light packages.
- •Logistics planning for e-commerce orders.
الصيغة
Volumetric weight (kg) = L × W × H (cm) / divisor. Divisors: air 5000, courier 6000, road 3000. Chargeable weight = max(actual, volumetric).
الأسئلة الشائعة
Why different divisors?
Each mode compensates for its capacity constraints differently. Air freight is space-constrained (low divisor → penalises bulky items); road trucks care more about mass.
Which carriers use 6000?
Major international couriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS) commonly apply 6000 for retail parcels. Freight carriers generally use 5000.
Is chargeable weight always the max?
Yes — carriers bill whichever is larger, actual or volumetric.
